What to Wear | Restaurant Week

It's that time of year again!  Metro Washington Restaurant Week is upon us and The Pink Palm has the perfect outfit for your evening out.  Whether you are having chips and salsa or caviar and champagne, we've got the stylish ensemble to match your night on the town!

Heading to Range in Friendship Heights?  Try our Charlene Dress paired with the Castaway Scarf in Tropical Pink for a bright splash of color!  We recommend the Coastal Tote in Lulu to hold your leftovers.  The white spade Fornash earrings are the perfect ear candy.  Pull on your favorite boots (these are by Fratelli Rossetti) and you are ready to wow 'em!

Margaritas with your gal pals at Lauriol Plaza?  We've got you uncovered in the Cabana TopWorth Skinny Jeans, and Newport Wedges!  Accessorize with beautiful Fornash and KJP bracelets.  Add a navy Castaway Scarf, we know it's still January even though it's always sunny and warm at The Pink Palm!

Want to dress up for an intimate evening at Bastille in Old Town? The Selassie Dress is your go-to as you shine in 2014's Pantone Color of the Year, Radiant Orchid!  Be sure to wrap up in the  Gold Jacquard Murfee Wrap, throw on some sparkly flower studs, and hold onto your gold Knock Out Clutch, all found at The Pink Palm!  We love a monochromatic shoe, so add J.Crew's Etta pump with some festive polka dot tights.  One of our favorite New Year's Resolutions is to wear more fur (faux that is!) like this little diddy found in TJ Maxx.

We hope you have an amazing night out, wherever Restaurant Week takes you!  Be sure to stop by any of our five Pink Palm locations to pick up your stunning new outfit!

What Inspires Us | UVA Basketball

Be it the arts, music scene, or sporting events, Charlottesville is a mecca of entertainment. Now that UVA is back in session, the Cavaliers have several big home basketball games coming up. First off is Florida State on Jan 18th, followed by North Carolina on Jan 20th and Virginia Tech on Jan 25th.

And as most of you Lilly girls know a basketball game is not just a sporting event, it is also a social event. Here are some options of what to wear while cheering on Virginia this season!

The items Gabbi is seen wearing below can be found in our store or on our website. She is wearing the Iris Blue Harp Wrap paired with almond Travel Pants.  Her accessories include the Lilly Pulitzer Knock Out Envelope Clutch in metallic gold, "Bali Bracelet" by Julie Vos, and a Fornash link necklace.

For our second look or game..... Gabbi is wearing the all-cotton Harp Wrap in True Navy Getaway Stripe.  Staying true to the Cavalier color scheme, she added the Castaway Scarf in Coralie. Fun Fact: the Harp Wraps can also be unbuttoned and used as a little travel blanket.

And for out last look,  we decided to stay away from Virginia Tech colors and stay with the Virginia state colors!  Gabbi is ready to go to John Paul Jones wearing those fabulous almond Travel Pants, the cashmere Bryn Cardigan in Iris Blue, and a limited edition Virginia State Murfee Scarf.

GO HOOS!!!!!

New Year, New Beginnings

Once again, it's that time of the year when people vow to shop less and travel more, eat less and sleep more. As for what we plan to do with our money, we will be keeping it right where we can see it - hanging in our closet. A few months from now most of us will be quick to give you reasons as to why we did not make it to the gym or how we really really needed that cheeseburger at 1 am, but for now here is what our Palmettes are striving for in 2014.

Kara: "Drink more water!"
Lauren: "Try to branch out to other tops and NOT buy the Elsa in every color and pattern!"
Nadia: "Have more parties!"
Jodi: "Make it more of a point to converse via phone or in person."
Anna: "Make it more of an effort to cook and eat at home."

Cristie: "Try and eat fresh, healthier foods! That being said, I will be at Anna's house more!"
Gabby: "Wash my face every night before bed."
Elizabeth: "Try more restaurants so I can keep up with Annie's foodie antics."
Nancy: "Be true to myself and take more time to enjoy life!"
Annie: "Be wiser about how I spend my money."
Carly: "Be more daring with color!"
Jamie: "Use Capital Bike Share to explore the city!"

New Year Closet Essentials

Elizabeth's Back to Basics" Picks
It’s easy to get lost in Lilly’s classic bright sun dresses covered in tropical flowers and pink elephants, but the brand also includes timeless basics that can work for any occasion. Take it from a daily Lilly wearer, these 5 pieces are wardrobe MUST HAVES and can be worn multiple ways.

1. Bryn Cardigan - Available in four different colors, the Bryn is a perfect layering piece. It can be belted for a more polished look or just an additional layer for these cold temps! Plus, who doesn't love a little cashmere?!

2. Elsa - Personally, I am a huge supporter of the Elsa. The Elsa is one of the most versatile Lilly tops and my go-to for daily wear. It’s easy to throw on over a pair of Travel Pants for a casual look, but can also be worn with a pencil skirt and blazer; a little more corporate-friendly."

3. Worth Skinny Jean - Looking for a pair of jeans that are as comfortable as your travel pants? Look no further, Lilly lovers, the Worth Skinny jean is about to become your new best friend. Like the Elsa, the Worth Skinny is a Lilly staple and available throughout the and Puffer Vest, or dressed up with an Iona Shell and blazer. The possibilities are endless.

4. Murfee Scarf - The murfee scarf is versatile layering piece for any outfit. For those weary of bright patterned blouses, the Murfee is an easy way to incorporate some Lilly into your everyday. Murfees also make great gifts!

5. Bronte Shift - No Lilly list would be complete without a dress, and right now I’m loving the Bronte Shift. The Bronte Shift is your classic three-quarter length shift, yet the embellished neck-line provides just the right amount of sparkle. This dress is perfect for Holiday parties and totally wearable throughout the rest of the year.
