White Out

White Meets Gold

WHITE OUT! WHITE OUT! WHITE OUT! It's that time of the year again for us to start preparing for graduations, celebrations, and much more!  Our white collection is breathtaking from the feminine gestures to the signature gold soutache trim.  For Wardrobe Wednesday this week we want to share with you some go-to white essentials for Spring.

Three Shirts to the Wind

Now In Stores | Tori Richard

History

Rewind to the 1950's, Honolulu, Hawaii.  Mort Feldman had recently retired from his career in apparel manufacturing and was looking forward to enjoying his golden years in the Aloha state.  During the late fifties and sixties Hawaii was buzzing with excitement; a destination for honeymooning celebrities such as Frank Sinatra and Ava Gardner, Hawaii was quickly becoming the Mecca for resort chic apparel.

Bored with retirement, Mort decided to return to the fashion industry by establishing Tori Richard.  The inspiration for the name came from one of Mort's three sons, Richard, and his daughter, Victoria. Tori Richard opened its first factory on Pier 7 in downtown Honolulu in 1956.  

Tori Richard has grown immensely from its first factory on Pier 7.  There are now eight retail stores in Hawaii alone.  Still family owned and operated, Tori Richard can now be found mainland on Fifth Avenue, high-end department stores and small boutique shops alike.

This brand is globally known and was recently presented the 2013 Retailer of the Year for the state of Hawaii.  Well, Aloha Hawaii and Hello East Coast!  We are so excited to introduce you to this iconic brand and can't wait to see what Virginia and Maryland have to offer!

That being said, we wanted to know what this brand was all about.  To start off, we decided to have a trunk show "Preview" to see all the pieces, try them on, and gather our thoughts while ten of our top costumers joined us.  Soon after the brand had captured the attention, we wanted more!

The day came that we received our first shipment of Tori Richard and we were all itching for it to be on the floor.  While opening the bags and hanging the dresses, we had our Lilly costumers scooping the Tori Richard pieces and making their way to the nearest dressing room.  Soon after, they purchased their favorite item in three different colors.

Our TR lovers have been commenting on the material and comfort which comes from Cotton Lawn, Silk, custom Jacquards, and flowing Chiffon.  Positive feedback from this brand has been flowing here and taking us by a whirlwind.  The endless amounts of confidence Tori Richard is giving our customers day in and day out is not only gratifying but contagious!

It's WINE tasting time!

With predicted weekend temperatures in the mid 60's, I think I speak for all of the Palmettes when I say IT'S WINE TASTING TIME!  Nothing beats a beautiful day with fabulous friends and delicious wine.  What's the only thing that could possibly make this day better, you ask?  LILLY of course!

A Sunny afternoon with friends at Pippin Hill Farm and Vineyards or Trump Winery can be picture perfect with right accessories. Bring your Acrylic Wine Glasses in 'True Navy Booze Cruise, Shorely Blue Trippin' and Sippin', or Spa Blue Lobstah Roll and sip in style!

When the tasting room closes make sure to grab a bottle for later and carry it out, like the true Lilly girl you are, in the Multi Wine Tote! Cheers Ladies!

Hot Spots | Bethesda

Bethesda is such a cute town and the most fun place to work! There are so many restaurants and shops that it is nearly impossible to not have something to do. We wanted to fill you in on a few of our fave places and what’s so great about them! 

When we have super busy days at the store, it’s easy to lose track of time. When this happens, we need something quick and delicious! Our first place to run to? Bethesda Bagels. An awesome family run bagel shop that has just about anything that you are craving. Cookies and cream cookie anyone? 

The day is not over for us when the doors close at the Pink Palm Bethesda. We grab our Murfee Scarf and Coastal Tote and head over to the Mussel Bar for a great happy hour. Seafood and drinks with the girls? We think so! 

Sometimes a girl just needs a pick me up. The ever recognizable and fun atmosphere at the Drybar does just the job. We walk out looking flawless with our curls and can walk straight across the street to our home here the Pink Palm! 

Coffee is a must. Not only is it a must in the morning, but it also is a must at pretty much all points of the day. Thankfully we have Quartermaine, a locally founded coffee shop, just steps away and we take advantage of it as much as we possibly can!

This week for Wardrobe Wednesday we have put together the PERFECT date night outfit!  This ensemble can work with a pretty Pashmina on a brisk Spring night while accessorizing with gold influences. This winter in DC has been brutal. Near record lows were brought in by the polar vortex and more often than not it seems like fluffy white flakes are falling from the sky and blanketing the city. It’s even harder to face the bitter cold outside when you are surrounded by shorts, skirts, sundresses and beautiful bright, bold colors like the Palmettes are on a daily basis.

It was one of those days where the grass was still sprinkled with snow and everyone was wrapped up in cashmere that Annie, our sun-worshiping beach girl and manager of McLean, knew she couldn't take it anymore – she had to get away. So she booked a ticket, packed her bags with some of her Lilly favorites and jetted down to Miami Beach for a long weekend to visit friend and former Palmette, Danielle.

It's almost that time of year, Lilly love birds! Valentines Day is only hours away and over here at the Pink Palm we are anxiously awaiting its arrival-mainly for the chocolates and flowers!
